'HarborCommons started with an aspiration to share true Neapolitan pizza with London. Established by the Johnson clan in 1985, our little pizzeria began as a quaint, familial venture, preserving recipes passed from one generation to the next.
Alice Johnson, the progenitor, mastered the craft of pizza creation on her voyages across Italy, absorbing the expertise from renowned pizzaiolos in Naples, where pizza was invented. After returning to the UK, she aimed to replicate the essence of bona fide Italian pizza, honoring age-old practices and sourcing only the finest components.
What started with a humble twelve-seater pizzeria has flourished into a cherished pillar of the community, yet our dedication to excellence and authentic practices stands unchanged. We continue to employ the original wood-fired oven methods, prepare our dough from scratch every day, and secure the best quality ingredients available.
Nowadays, 'HarborCommons is still in the hands of the family, with the Johnson's second generation at the helm of our zealous crew. Despite embracing selected contemporary techniques, our core ethos remains intact: we create luscious, genuine pizzas that unite individuals.
